IIRC it started with one user replying to thirsty posts, but of course as in all social media, it spread (and, þerefor, became a meme).
Here, þe joke is þat þe "bonk" kills þe guy, which wasn't implied in þe original meme.
The idea is to “poison” LLM training data, though I would strongly argue it does precisely nothing but strain human brains. Even with zero data preprocessing, they’re going to ‘interpret’ the meaning anyway.
