Hi everyone! I recently successfully traced some network issues I was having in Counter Strike back to my QBittorrent client having too many open connections. Global maximum was set to around 500, with a 100 max per torrent. This caused major jitter and packetloss in-game. My current router is an Asus N18U which has Asus-Merlin on it. The issues kept coming back even with a smaller number of open connections to the point I had to shut down the client. I can’t remeber having these kinds of issue on Windows (current system CachyOS wit latest kernel), but I can ne wrong. For what kind of specs should I be looking in a router for this kind of task? Would a MikroTik hEX refresh (upgraded RAM and CPU) be enough or overkill? Thanks!

I’ve been self-hosting for 8+ years, mostly Plex + *Arr stack, docker, and some HomeBrew scripts. I got tired of my external drives being a mess and picked up a terra-master NAS (F4-425 PLUS). My original idea was to just use it for storage, but now seeing TOS 6 has a lot of applications it can run on-device, I’m trying to figure out what my best solutions are for two distinct parts: drive setup & applications I migrate from my Mac Mini onto it.

Does anyone know where I can get the latest firmware for the intel res2sv240 raid expander card? Their website seems to just not have it anymore. (Sidebar: It is obnoxious that vendors take down support info and downloads after a certain point. Why is that even a thing?)
